Apple OSX and UNIX operating systems have a lot in common. The Apple portion of the OSX Operating system mostly consists of a suite of Apple Corporation applications, and an Apple version of windows graphical user interface, running on a UNIX operating system named Darwin that is based on BSD (Berkley Software Development) UNIX.
