Ethical Filter Worksheet

Value

with Examples
Justify the Value's Position in the List. Include any challenges to employing these values consistently when making personal and organizational decisions.
Recognition of an Ethical Issue I must first recognize if and where an ethical dilemma exists. This is difficult for me as I do not look outwardly to find problems. I keep them internal and try to fix them all myself. If I still find an issue I then must engage that person in developing an alternative.
Trust I must engage the other person in developing a relationship that allows trust from both sides. This may seem to be an alternative solution to any of the issues that may arise. Do unto othersÂ…
Understand and be empathetic. I am more critical and judgmental and need to learn to adjust that so I can combine the four and be fair and just in my decisions.
Accountability Do what you say, say what you do. Everything that happens to you is a result of a decision you made yourself. It is never someone else's fault.
Communication Always let the others know what's on your mind. Good or Bad Again, I must be a little more forward, less judgmental and critical and communicate the proper issues, dilemmas or delegated tasks needing to me done.
Personal Satisfaction Listen, Understand, Empathize and hold true to what is right. If this is done the ethical dilemma will resolve itself.

Note: This table format varies from APA standards in conformity with guidance contained in the preface to the APA Publication Manual, 5th edition. Following the APA guideline that style alternatives are sometimes necessary, the spacing of the table should be single rather than double for efficiency in assembly, delivery, and grading of the worksheet.
