Beowulf, by Seamus Heaney, is a story of a man who sets out to save his father’s city, Herot. Elizabeth Stanton is the story of a woman who sets out to change history. Although these two people, one fictional and one historical, came from different backgrounds both changed the lives of people around them forever. In this essay I intend to prove that Elizabeth Stanton and Beowulf are not all that different and are remarkably similar.
