Bereaved children have higher levels of anger, aggression, and delinquent behavior. Among the very young angry outbursts, tantrums and oppositional behavior toward adults and aggression are common reactions (Fitzgeral). These are all natural psychological responses to childhood grief (Fitzgerald).
Silence about death does not help children deal with loss. When death is discussed with a child, explanations should be kept as simple and direct as possible.
