Lord Byron
George Gordon Noel Byron was born on January 22nd, 1788 in London with a club foot. His mother, Catherine Gordon, took him to Aberdeen, Scotland where he attended grammar school. It is rumored that his nurse made sexual advances on him when he was only nine, possibly shaping his twisted view on women. When he was ten, he inherited his uncle’s Newstead Abbey. After living there for a year, his lawyer John Hanson took him back to London because of the bad living conditions, an unqualified doctor, his nurse, May Gray, and the uneven temper of his mother. In London he could be properly cared for and sent to a better school.
