The film Chumscrubber is a movie with many dysfunctional aspects of family life and relationships being portrayed on the screen. There is symbolism abound in this film though some is blatantly obvious, and some is only in the beholders mind. This movie seeks to show the cause of these dysfunctions and some of the results caused by them. The main theme conveyed by Chumscrubber, is that parents who are caught up in their own lives can be oblivious to what their children do, and fail to respond adequately to their children’s needs,
The relationship between “Dean” and his parents is severely stressed as he feels his father only views him as subject matter....
