Critique of Dante’s Inferno

The idea of Dante’s hell in Dante’s Inferno though very descriptive of the tortures suffered by the sinners was lacking any reference to the color that we would expect of accompany aspects of hell, such as red, orange, black. The only reference to color was about the lack of color the further you descend in to hell the blacker it becomes making sight impossible. Furthermore if Hell is Satan’s domain how can he have no control over Virgil and Dante trip through hell? This poem offers a view of the sub divided levels of hell intermixed with the views both personal and political of the author.
