Don Quixote
Don Quixote
Book Three:
Why does he believe the landlord about the requirements to be dubbed a knight?
Doesn’t he think that the ceremony is too short?
-it seems half assed to me.
Why do the people at the inn throw stones at him?
The task, to me it seems really stupid- all he does is guard his armor.
Why is there a need to guard his armor? I don’t think that anyone would want to steal his piece of crap armor.
And should his task be more along the lines of saving a princess or something?
Book Four:
Does Don Quixote really think that the farmer is going to follow his orders?
-So far Don Quixote is the stupidest knight I’ve ever heard of.
Why is he all the sudden talking about Dulcinea Del Toboso?
-It kind of seems like he’s bragging to these traders.
-He also seems in denial because he’s calling Dulcinea his woman, and she really doesn’t give a rat’s ass about him.
The whole thing w/ the trader: Don Quixote brought that on himself.
-Knight’s don’t instigate trouble, they fix it.
DON QUIXOTE = DUMB!
Book Five and Six:
“...lost his wits...”- means he wasn’t always a lunatic. (p.26)
Why does he now think that he’s the best knight ever?
-Comparing himself to all the knights that he had read about, saying he’s better than them.
Seems like he’s got a disease.
Why is Sancho Panza doing everything Don Quixote says?
-Don Quixote is very determined and convincing.
Themes:
