0While fighting against the terrorism in the Iraq and Afghanistan, we have just lost our attention towards one of the biggest enemy and threat of the time “Drugs”. To war against it policies are set up by the Bush Administration that resulted in a decline in the drug abuse and heading towards improvement in terms of physical and mental health. Although there is a declination in the drug usage still over dosage in the teenagers and adults are reported. About 22 million Americans along with 80000 people per day who try drugs for the first time in their life are proven to be victim of this curse in the long turn. The destruction imposed by drugs in America can be conceived from the fact that American that counts for 5% of the total population of the World consumes about Two third of the Drug production globally. Usage of Illicit drugs in still a matter of controversy some people are in favor of the drugs like Marijuana, Tobacco and Alcohol while some are strongly against it. Rehabilitation and clinics are set up to cure the drug abusers but unfortunately only about 20% of the addicts receive the treatments. If the successful treatment is carried out, it may result in reduction of criminal activity by 80%and reduce arrest up to 64%. The treatment has proven cost effective along with declination in the recidivism rates. There is a marked brutal effect of this Narcotics Trafficking on the millions of Americans that not resulted in the destruction of life an individual but also at the same time families and societies are ruined away. Being a member of a society, it is our moral obligation to have victory in the war against the drugs. (Dobbs 2007)
