Introduction
External Environment is defined as conditions, entities, events and factors surrounding an organization which influence its activities and choices, and determine it opportunities and risk. (Businessdictionary.com) External Environment can also be divided into three categories, the remote environment, industry environment, and the operating environment. In this paper an environmental analysis will be performed to identify the industry in which Cox Communications operates, identify macroeconomic variables that affect Cox Communications and perform an environmental scan that will identify some of the challenges and opportunities faced by Cox Communications.
