First Amendment Then and Now
The issue of religion and government is a major debate in the United States of America. Freedom of religion is the right to practice the religion of one's choice, or to be a non-believer. The persecution of men and women for their religious beliefs has a long history and is, even yet, far from universally eradicated. Where does religion fit in, in our nation and what rules should be applied to it. The major problem we have when it comes to the First Amendment is knowing which way to apply it to our daily lives.
