The origin of the word “forensic” derives from the Latin word “forensis” which means forum. During the time of the Romans, if someone was accused of a criminal act, the accused and the accuser would both be given the opportunity to present their version of the story to a group of their peers. Their ability to explain themselves and their skills of discussion is what will determine the outcome of the case. Whoever could argue the case more efficiently would win the case.
