Genesis 12: 1-9

My interpretation of this text is that God tells Abram to leave his relatives and his land and to take a journey to a promised land of which God will show him the way. So Abram Gathers his wife Sarai, and his nephew Lot and all of their belongings and begins his trek to the land of Canaan knowing that all who bless him will be blessed and all who curse him will be cursed.
