In society today everyone lives their lives in competition with one another. We may be in competition with other people, and we may not even know it. From the simplest tasks to the hardest, we are all in competition. Even the smallest of things like getting the good parking spot in front of the grocery store or waiting in line to get a Sony Playstation 3 are acts of competition.
In the business world, companies will often compete with other companies to provide services and products for everyone. Merriam-Webster defines competition in business as "the effort of two or more parties acting independently to secure the business of a third party by offering the most favorable terms," or in other words, "every business is in business for your business."
For us humans, we can see competition as a casual thing, but in the animal world it's all about surviving and growth. When it comes to survival, it is often said that "the early bird gets the worm." When relating that to the business world I would say that the "birds" are the businesses and the "worm" is the consumers. So in a sense, the business world is very much similar to that of the animal world where both species are all about surviving and growth.
The Telecommunications industry is a very competitive and intense market. It has been one of the most remarkable technologies since its first invention of the telephone in 1876. Everyone in one way or another has used its capabilities to communicate to one another and/or transfer information. In today's world, the demand for telecommunications is very high, but with many different companies competing in its industry, there is no one dominant company that prevails above all others.
