Problem Solution: Global Communications
Global Communications (GC) has recently identified a problem in the telecommunications industry: too much competition. In reaction to this problem GC has developed an approach to make their company more competitive on a global level. They will introduce new services and apply cost-cutting measures to increase profitability. In doing this, GC has been faced with issues surrounding their plan. Outsourcing of jobs to international call centers would mean laying off employees and cutting salaries. Communication, or lack thereof, has been a major player in GC’s global plan. Identifying a problem statement, end-state visions and alternative solutions to the problems and issues facing GC is important in aiding the company’s direction towards becoming a global resource. Knowing the risk assessments and mitigation techniques of alternative solutions is also a valuable tool GC can use as they move forward. Finally, implementation of a plan that has been researched and found to be of best practice will lead GC in the direction they need to go.
