Global Communications is a telecommunications company that has had to make some significant changes recently to stay afloat in the competitive telecommunications industry. "First, they plan to realize growth through the introduction of new servicesÂ…" Also, the Senior Leadership Team "has identified cost-cutting measures that will improve profitability." "The company plans to market itself more aggressively on an international level with the goal of becoming a truly global resource." In the next several pages, issues, challenges, and opportunities will be introduced in which Global Communications is currently experiencing. An investigation of what initiated these issues and challenges will be conducted and followed by the impact they have had on the different stakeholder groups involved. A vision of the desired end state will be constructed from these issues and challenges and the steps needed in minimizing this gap will be listed.

Issue and Opportunity Identification
Global Communications has been faced with a predicament: new telecommunications services have been developed and industry competition has increased. I have identified three issues and opportunities that Global Communications has recently encountered. Global Communications needs to take "cost cutting measures that will improve profitability." If they do not acquire new services and expand to an international level they will not survive. Technology advancements in the telecommunications industry has been the initiator of this issue. Other companies have caught on to this new wave of technology and many competitors have outsourced business, making them more profitable and making the marketplace more competitive.
