The Global Communications Senior Leadership Team developed a 2 sided plan; first - they plan to realize growth through the introduction of new services including local and long distance market across the country, second the team identified cost cutting measures that will improve profitability. The goal is to market aggressively to become a global resource. Throughout this essay I am analyzing the negotiations between Global Communications and the Technologies Workers Union.
First, I will identify some issues and opportunities along with a table diagram. Second, I will establish the stakeholders are and what their ethical dilemmas may be. Third, I will create a vision statement that reflects the desired end state.
Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
The main issue is Global Communication did not involve the Technologies Workers Union in the process of creating this strategy. There were no options presented to the Union and Global Communications expected the Union to see it their way and agree with the plan. There was a big communication gap between Global Communications and the Union. Global Communication main goal is to increase profitability and move to a more global market; they could have used this opportunity to change the structure of the company getting to a compromise with the Union instead of forcing the issue. Global Communications is guilty of; creating a distributive negation, not using a dialectic method of programmed conflict, satisficing the choice, groupthink, and lack of integrative negotiations.
