How Is China Preparing For Olympics
As the Summer Olympics of 2008 approaches in Beijing, China, many of the world’s greatest athletes are gathered to represent the love and pride for their country, in the many sports played across the world. Bringing the Olympics to China shows that a country well known for its communism and poverty in the past two centuries, has showed the world; that China has become a well developed power player country.
Although each country has its own lifestyle and characteristics of how to live day by day, many topics are universal. Security is a major issue. Since the terrorist attacks of 9/11, countries worldwide have beefed up security. China has made security a major concern to keep all safe by providing security drones that will patrol the skies over the Olympic sailing venue. China’s anti terrorist force is compromised of 100,000 cops, army troopers, and commandos. Using 35 different kinds of anti-terrorist weapons for Olympic hosting cities. Mock hijackings and bomb attack scenarios have been drilled.
With many concerns for the world to get greener, China has also let it be known that the country populated with over 1 billion citizens, plan on cutting smog and reducing pollution for the Summer Olympics. China car times reports that Beijing’s car population has exploded over the past few years. Every 1.46 families in Beijing own a car, with a reported 3 million vehicles exceeding in Beijing. Beijing has announced that it will cut the number of vehicles running on its streets to improve traffic flow and air pollution.
