InterClean is part of the $8 million sanitation and cleaning industry. The company’s CEO David Spencer inherited the company and has done justice to his title ever since. The company has made a recent decision to evolve company’ sales process to a more consumer focused, solution based process focusing on tailored needs of clients from different industries. The company is also announcing a merger with EnvironTech, the leading competitor in the market for InterClean to create a one stop shopping experience for both the clientele (InterClean Scenario, 2008).
Situation Analysis
Issue and Opportunity Identification
The recent announcement from the CEO about the enhancement in the company direction has been official yet not been communicated in details to all the employees causing confusion and rumors already. InterClean Inc. is facing challenges within the cleaning and sanitation industry. Cleaning companies can now offer greater value to consumer by providing turn-key solutions that include product training for employees, regular monitoring and info-sharing of new relevant regulations and in some cases, full cleaning service contracts. Retail customers have shown interest in similar operational solutions. The company has seen a recent need to evolve the sales process to meet the consumer needs who are looking for a total solution which includes reduced costs and better customer contact experience. The company’s decision to consolidate the sales team of Environ Tech following the merger of both companies is causing issues related to change that will impact company culture, structure and employees directly (University of Phoenix Scenario, 2008).
