InterClean Inc. is a major competitor within the sanitation vista, "future profitability hinges on fulfilling this emerging need" (Scenario: InterClean, Inc., p. 1). InterClean currently has a sales team that excels in selling and marketing products and services the company offers. With the ever changing of products and services along with technology, the company has to constantly keep up with the current and future changes within the sanitation industry.
InterClean has to make drastic changes in order to compete; they need to review the growth of their company to regain competitive advantage. By using the 9-step problem- solving model, a problem statement will be developed to solve InterClean's problem and find an optimal solution to the organizational behavior issues.

InterClean has been involved in an industry that has been embryonic to various changes that have been leading environmental safety for several decades. The strategic direction of the company needs to be revamped to keep up with the growing of the industry. David Spencer, President and CEO, has considered making changes to current leadership positions in order to accomplish the goal he has set for InterClean and that is "development of full-range service packages tailored to individual accounts" (Scenario: InterClean, Inc., p. 1). This change to personnel will only be needed merely to make the company more lucrative and competitive.
