Intersect Investments (Intersect) is embarking on a new opportunity to change the company's financials to improve sales and profitability in the financial industry. The disaster of September 11, 2001, has affected the financial services industry. Financial firms are struggling with trust issues with clients and credibility on Wall Street. "To succeed, investment companies need to offer an ever expanding array of up-to-the-minute products coupled with expert advice," (Scenario, 2007, p. 1). In an attempt to survive this volatile market, Intersect has decided to change the companies vision "Provide a broad set of products and services to consumer and small business customers using a model of customer intimacy that will build long-term relationships based on trust and value to the customer, "(Scenario, 2007, p. 1).
Intersect faces a multitude of challenges and opportunities, these elements include culture, groups and teams, change, leadership style, and structure. The Intersect analysis will refer to the problem-based learning model. This Gap Analysis will examine Intersect Investment's current situation, opportunities and issues, and the stakeholders' perspective. This Analysis concludes with the considerations of the desired end-state vision, the current situation, and uses the course concepts that will focus on turning challenges into opportunities and transitioning Intersect into becoming a financial market leader.
