As quoted by Judith Levine in her essay, Shooting the Messenger: Why Censorship Won’t Stop the Violence, the United States Constitution’s First Amendment is “under attack”. The amendment states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble."
