Every organization has a clearly defined personality that is unique to that organization and binds organizational employees to one another. The personality of an organization is the organizational culture. The culture of an organization provides an environment in which there are shared beliefs and assumptions regarding what processes are in place to meet organizational goals. Organizational culture dictates the type of employees that are hired, and can determine who will remain with the organization. Compatibility with the environment of the organization is as important as compatibility with the employee's particular job responsibilities.
While the employee may not match up perfectly in every category within the organization, a healthy overlap tends to create a mutually beneficial relationship and still leaves plenty of room for the employee to express himself uniquely. When the employee is in harmony with the values and actions of the organization, his work satisfaction and performance is enhanced. In this paper, the author will review the organizational culture and structure of Kudler Fine Foods; in addition, the author will look at the leadership style of the company and analyze how that style affects the organizational culture of the company.
Kudler Fine Foods has an academy-like culture. The company has a very diverse group of employees with age groups ranging from late teens to mid fifties. The company sets clear goals for their employees and focus on developing the skills of younger employees. Kudler recruits outside the company for entry-level jobs, but they promote from within for higher-level positions. At the management level, the company recruits internally and externally.
