Founder of Kudler Fine Foods, Kathy Kudler, was previously the Vice-President of Marketing for a defense contractor. Drained from constant travel and pressures of corporate life, Kathy decided to venture on her own with new opportunities in mind. Kathy relieved stress through gourmet cooking. On a shopping trip in search for ingredients for a gourmet meal, she suddenly realized that there was an opportunity for an upscale epicurean food shop in the city of La Jolla, California. She then prepared and developed a business plan, obtained financing in 1998, and within six months the first Kudler Fine Foods was opened. By the year 2000, a second store was opened in Del Mar California and in 2003 a third shop opened in Encinitas California.
The management team involves planning, organizing, formulating strategies (being able to see the big picture), making decisions that will lead Kudler Fine Foods to have the finest foods and wines in the gourmet business. Kathy is the overseer of all locations in the above management team functions. The three store managers (director of operations) are involved in the planning, organizing and making decisions for their individual store. They deal with the day to day operations which include inventory, sales, purchasing additional inventory, safety, maintenance, and state and federal compliances.
The director of finance and accounting plans and directs the accounting and finance activities for Kudler Fine Foods. This person implements policies, goals and procedures relating to the financial management team. This person also monitors all financial issues, estimates future costs and revenues that involves strategic management planning.
