Introduction
The following paper will seek to explore the primary management functions of the gourmet food store-Kudler Fine Foods(KFF). Technology and internet utilization will be discussed and Michael Porter’s 5 forces model will be defined.
Primary Functions of Management
Kathy Kudler, the President of KFF, is the primary person responsible for overseeing the main business functions at the company. Inventory selection and ordering along with general corporate oversight of three main locations are the most important aspects of her position.
Harvey Stephens is the Director of Finance and Accounting at KFF. Mr. Stephens is responsible for the planning and direction of the accounting activities corporate wide. Developing financial management policies, preparing financial statements and the supervision of general ledgers are some of the most important aspects of Mr. Stephens’s job at KFF. He also seeks to coordinate external audits, manage relationships with lenders, and communicate the review of financial statements with the management team.
Yvonne Reynolds is the Director of Store Operations. Her job is to oversee the operational management of all three stores. Ms. Reynolds is responsible for ensuring store safety, facility maintenance, and environmental security while complying with state and federal regulations. Main aspects of her job include supervision of purchasing and inventory, development of staffing levels at specific locations, and maintaining vendor contracts. Ms. Reynolds also is involved in merchandising, store design, and being the main consultant on operational matters with respect to each store.
