Executive Summary
McDonald’s declares that they do business in an honest, fair, diligent and ethical manner. This research explores that declaration by focusing on three main areas. These areas are: corporate governance practices, social responsibility and response to shareholder activism. Based on the findings of this research, it was determined that their current campaign slogan, ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ is an accurate representation of McDonald’s Corporation. The governance practices represent a constructive ethical program. The social responsibility initiatives are loved by the customers, as demonstrated by the 46 million daily visits. Finally, the shareholders are pleased, based on the stock price, with the responsiveness of the company to their concerns.
