In the years after the War of 1812 the United States went into the Era of Good Feelings. Although the Missouri Compromise and the American System were beginning thoughts of sectionalism, the period was dominated by a feeling of nationalism. The feeling of patriotism was spread through political nationalism, expansion nationalism, and cultural nationalism.
