Oliver Wolf Sacks, born July 9, 1933, is an English neurologist based in the United States. He has earned medical degrees from Oxford University while a member of The Queen’s College. Later, became a resident in neurology at UCLA, then a clinical professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and New York University for over 43 years. Recently, leads the neurology department at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Sacks is famous for his book, Awakenings, about patients who are considered neurologically incurable, but are able to adapt to their situation in different ways.
