Once More To The Lakee

In Once More to the Lake E.B White is reminded of his childhood. He writes about taking his son to a place that he used to go when he was a child. Being with his son and seeing him do various things that White himself did as a kid. White, lost in the moment, feels as he is an adolescent again. While mesmerized by this moment of youth, White is brought back to reality. White realizes that he is no longer young but has grown old as he feels a “sudden chill of death” (13) blow through his body.
