Essex Chair Company is a manufacturer of seating products such as fine dining chairs, bar stools and nightclub seating furniture. Since it’s inception in the late 60’s, Essex was doing fine, growth was steady and slow, and furniture orders were increasing at a constant slow rate as well. The number of employees has grown from seventy-five in 1970, to over five hundred by the late 1980’s and is now at nine hundred.
