“Organizational culture is a system of shared values, assumptions, beliefs, and norms that unite the members of an organization” (Gomez-Mejia & Balkin 2002, p. 108). Simply put, an organization’s culture reflects the employees’ views on the way things are done within the organization. Organizational culture is specific to each firm and affects how employees feel and act about the firm. Organizational culture also determines the type of employee hired and retained by the company.
