When I graduated from Troy State with my bachelors degree in accounting in 1990, I always intended to continue my education. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to be distracted and let too many things get in the way of this goal. Many years later, I entered the world of public higher education as a Director of Financial Aid at the Medical College of Georgia in 2004. I discovered quickly that advanced degrees were expected if one were to have any advancement opportunities in the field. I made a commitment to myself to begin my MBA degree before I turned 40 in 2009.

My former employer, the Medical College of Georgia, did offer tuition...
