Running Head: MY PERSONAL ETHIC

Introduction

It has been said that ethics are the set of rules and mores that direct ones action and though, is what you do when no one is looking and when you know you will not be found out. In other words, if the situation arises in which not doing the right thing would never be known, the ethical choice is to do the right thing anyway. It is positive personal ethics that compel the individual to call to the cashier’s attention that they have returned too much money, it is the same thing as someone finding as wallet and returned it with all of the same things in it.

Ethic is the study of one perception of what is right or wrong, that is basically why various things can alter your thoughts. Ethics is a quality learned individually while growing up as a part of life. The imbibing of value predetermines each person ethical behaviors. For example most people would not want to except that they compromise there self at home or work or in other environments. For instincts, I am honest, but only to a point. Even though I am an honest person, I will not be as honest with some people in a way that will some how cause them pain or cause them to dislike me.
One’s personal ethic is structure around external factors like culture, religious beliefs and influences. In my culture the institution of family is very important as well as community. The guidelines that are past down from family to family and from ancestor to ancestor are major role that influence the embryonic nurturing of ethical attributes and judgment. We are taught to respect the values passed on by our family. As result of being a recipient of this type of ethical guidelines we become role model for our children and act as vehicles of learning of life values.
