Police Discretion

Abstract
Discretion used by police officers has an influence on their action. Police officers use discretion in all different types of circumstances. To control discretion is what critics are saying needs to be managed. Discretion is used depending on the individual, the surroundings and how it is taken care of. Police are forced to use discretion because of legal causes and character of policing. Police officers uses discretion on different actions or situations whether sometimes discretion is reasonable and sometimes not. Discretion is the freedom to make the right choices. Discretion is not the problem in policing; it’s the abuse of discretion.
