We are living a society where there are many issues going on everyday and it is difficult to keep up with everything. One suggestion is to recognize the issues, understand the process, and be willing to help out. In this paper, I will touch on a bit about Child Sexual Abuse, Identity Theft, Obesity and Overweight, and Teen Pregnancy. These are the hot topics/issues that I am sure people will want to discuss as well.
Child Sexual Abuse has been an ongoing issue for quite long time and it is a huge concern for the parents with young children. According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, "Child sexual abuse has been reported up to 80,000 times a year, but the number of unreported instances is far greater, because the children are afraid to tell anyone what has happened, and the legal procedure for validating an episode is difficult. The long-term emotional and psychological damage of sexual abuse can be devastating to the child. No child is psychologically prepared to cope with repeated sexual stimulation. Even a two or three year old, who cannot know the sexual activity is wrong, will develop problems resulting from the inability to cope with the over stimulation". According to the American Heart Association, "Obesity is now recognized as a major risk factor for coronary heart disease, which can lead to heart attack.
