In this essay the topic of adolescent decision making is discussed; specifically when it comes to life and death decisions. In issue 10: Should Adolescents Be Allowed to Make Their Own Life and Death Decisions, Weir and Peters say yes. They base their decision on moral rights. Ross takes the opposing side, questioning adolescents’ competency in decision making skills. She also states there are moral and pragmatic reasons to not allow this. Although both sides make valid arguments, I would have to agree with Ross. I will be using in this essay Natural Law and the Social Contract Theory to support my decision.
