Conflict Perspective and Social Class
The conflict theory refers to power and social inequality as the main characteristics of society. In the United States, citizens believe to have all equal rights, although some have more money. Even today, as this country is thoroughly developed, the wealthier people receive a lesser punishment for their crimes. This injustice supports conflict theory, for the power elite that runs society also controls the criminal justice system.
