The Confederate States of America is a movie about America, and what it would be like if the South had won the Civil war. The movie began with the British and French joining the battle on the side of the Confederacy, which assured the defeat of the North at Gettysburg. The South then takes the battle up north, and forms one country. Lincoln attempted to escape to Canada but was captured.
After the war was won, President Davis brought back slavery and offered a tax rebate to businesses and people who would buy and own slaves. The new nation conquered Cuba, Mexico and South America. The Confederate States of America took a nonagressive approach toward Third Reich and their view of racial plurity, and a defensive strike on Japan on December 7, 1941.
Kennedy was assassinated soon after being elected, because people thought he was going to emancipate women and give them the right to vote. A black terrorist base from Canada and a Cold War breaks out, complete with the Cotton Curtain being built between the two countries.
The Fauntroy family was involved and led the country through its triumphs and tragedies. The movie arrives to today that, in many ways, we recognize. Although our nation that is comfortable and flourishing, there is a split within.
Current politicians refer to us as two countries and maybe, other than geographically, there is no difference between Red and Blue or North and South states. The Nation has always struggled as to whether we are the United States of the Confederate States of America.
This movie was kind of creepy; it was quite a disturbing reflection of racial strife. It made me nervous to believe that this is the way we could be living today.
