The Effect Of Drug Addiction On The Body
Everyone likes parties, their fun; “cool,” “sexy,” “hip,” people drink, get “loose,” and become a more intense, and sometimes, more likeable version of themselves. What most of us don’t realize is what happens behind the “closed door.” There is a deeper, darker addiction that a select few know about during the “raging” party. There is an addiction that can hurt the mind, body, and soul. It steels your life and takes the very breath you breathe away from you. The thrill factor, the adrenaline, it’s all apart of a sickness that can rarely be stopped. It’s a black hole that goes on forever. The addiction to drugs so commonly heard of but so easily understated as a problem that can be fixed.
The addiction, at first, is mild. You say to yourself “I’m not affected by this,” “I do this to have fun, I promise you, and myself, if it gets to bad I will quit,” “seriously, what’s the hype about?” “Trust me,” “if I wanted to, I could stop whenever,” but to know ones surprise you don’t. After a few months, week’s maybe, you’re hooked. You keep injecting, you keep snorting, you keep smoking, and you keep popping pills. You will keep on this path, getting deeper and deeper into the addiction, but you still go, you’re having fun and it feel so good. To be free from yourself, to just let loose, to know that in this place, in this very moment no one can touch you. It’s not a long journey to addiction; if it’s the “drug of choice” you could be addicted on your first or second dose. People invest their lives on the high they get; they fall in love with it, they chase it, and if they get the power to quit it will take years to get clean. Experts say that addiction varies from person to person, you wake up one day and say to yourself; “why?” Why didn’t I stop, why did I get so far under that I had to start taking more.
