It is important to have efficiency within the company and their services. Planning and strategizing is also used by management in mapping out the future of the company or organization. Once objectives are set management can set a route to achieve the objectives to further the company's growth. Management uses organizing to set up the organizational chart of the company and specifying everyone's duties within the company. It is also important for for not only the roles of each person, but how they delegate tasks, allocate resources, set procedures, and determine priorities. Leading is very important for a manager to be successful. If a manager cannot motivate and encourage his employees the organization will not succeed. A good leader must always have communication lines open, inspire and lead by example, and guide his employees. The controlling part of the functions can sometimes be misinterpreted by management. Some managers think that the way to control employees is by intimidation. Controlling consists of measuring performance, comparing it to objectives, implementing necessary changes, and monitoring progress.
