Introduction
This paper is designed to answer two questions: How did you decide to pursue your MBA? What did you expect to gain from completing your MBA program? In completing this decision, the author referred to a variety of sources. Deciding what course to take in college at the halfway point is not always easy. The two choices that were looked at for a master's at the University of Phoenix were in business administration and management information.
Using Referrals
Upon any decision the author makes that will involve a great deal of time and
money to accomplish, he always asks many different people who have knowledge
concerning the subject already. Upon completion of a bachelor's degree in computer
science, the author had made many friends at his former college who all had their own
plans for furthering their education. He found that most of his classmates that had
completed a technical degree, like computer science, would move on to a master's
degree in computer science as well, but that was not the case. In fact, most had decided
to go for a master's degree in business administration. When asked why, they had
various reasons. The main answer was because it makes a person more marketable to
have an MBA on his or her resume if their bachelors were in a technical field and not
business as well. The last college class taken by the author at Park University was
Compliers. The instructor who taught the class gave the same advice as well which
added a final push in the author's decision.

One of the questions he had to ask himself was: why not go for a master's degree
