Why have you decided to pursue a Career in Teaching
I have decided to pursue a career in teaching because of my interest, passion, personal style, and life goals for teaching. Teaching is so great because I can remember my teachers having a positive impact on me and the ones who took a sledgehammer to my confidence and push me to have the desire to learn. From those moments, I knew that I could be one of the positive ones for teaching. I have always known teaching to be autonomy, family-friendly schedules, security, creativity and innovation, and a decent salary. I love to dream up new ways to present material, think about things or make learning fun for children and adults. I think that performing is fun for me and I believe in things that can make a difference in some kids' lives.
I am interested in pursuing teaching because I really want to, not because it is convenient or there are openings. I can keep a class interested in what I am teaching, handling the different learning styles of 30 kids and helping a lonely kid in the last row connect with somebody who will be his friend. I want to make a difference in many young lives. Nothing is quite like the feeling you get when you lead a group of eager students to a new level of understanding.
Teaching is so special to me because without a doubt, teaching is a career with a social conscience. It takes passion, persistence, and a real desire to help young people succeed. Being a teacher means holding a position of responsibility and authority in society. Teachers are the professionals that ready our children for a challenging world. Also, teaching is a career that will preserve our youth. When you spend your life around kids, their enthusiasm and curiosity is entirely infectious. There is no career more important than teaching.
