“Kill the idea that one kind of man is superior”.
Cry Freedom is a feature film directed by Richard Attenborough. It is set in the 1970’s during the apartheid era of South Africa. Cry Freedom is the true story of two men from different worlds who are drawn together in a struggle against the racism in South Africa. Denzel Washington plays the South African black activist, Stephen Biko, who was murdered while in police custody. Kevin Kline has an amazing performance as Donald Woods, a white liberal newspaper editor who becomes Biko’s friend.
