CAPTURE OF BRITISH PERSONNEL IN IRANI WATERS AND THE CONSEQUENCES

Fifteen British naval personnel were captured by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for illegally entering in Iranian territorial water in the northern Persian Gulf on March 23, 2007. There were eight personnel from the Royal Navy and seven from the Royal Marines who were in two light craft returning after successfully inspecting a merchant ship for goods being smuggled into Iraq as the western media reported.
