Experimentation

Experimentation is used in psychology as it is the most scientific method available to test a prediction or hypothesis. Experiments can be laboratory based, a highly controlled environment, field based, a more natural environment e.g. a classroom where less control can be exercised or a quasi or natural experiment which is in fact a naturally occurring event impossible or unethical to replicate such as a terrorist atrocity.
