The comparison in between the two poems by Hannah Armstrong and Amanda Barker is a struggle that woman go through with their children. Hannah Armstrong wants to release her child from the army. Amanda Barker does not even want a child. The two women both have children, but have different ideas of what they want for their children and themselves.
Hannah Armstrong is in a struggle to find a way to get her son, Doug, out of the army. She is worried sick and tries many different ways to get her son released from the army.
