Periodic Offender

This is the case of a “periodic offender,” a chemistry technician named Arnold Adams. In this situation, Arnold has found himself in a compromising position. A test was requested by the physician that was clearly marked “stat” but Andrew logged it in as routine and it sat for several hours before reaching the patient. Arnold made a mistake that could have been detrimental or fatal to the patient in the hospital where he is employed. To his benefit he received a “warning notice” from his supervisor rather than losing his job.
