Motivation and retention of employees are the keys to the success of all companies. Keeping employees motivated to build the company and to help them produce the top products is a task that most companies have mastered and some are working to achieve. Motivation is an employee’s willingness to exert toward a goal (Dreher & Dougherty, 2001). The other side of motivation is ensuring that the employees of that company are compensated and have the knowledge and skills to perform to the best of their ability that is aligned with the company’s strategy.
