There are many health risks associated with marijuana use, both physical and psychological. Some of them include; cancer risk through smoke inhalation, cognitive decline through use of marijuana, amotivational syndrome, decline in short-term memory and the ability to register short term memories as long-term memories. Some of the risks are as great as those also associated with cigarettes, such as the cancer risks and tar accumulation in the lungs.
