Team Communication
I feel that team communication is the single most important aspect of team dynamics. Without an effective way to keep all team members motivated and connected as a group, a team will never achieve optimum success. The Chicago Bulls of the 1990s are, to me, a prime example of teamwork and a staple for team communication. Michael Jordan will be the first to recognize this fact. When asked about the success of the Chicago Bulls, the media and the press will speak nothing of the team All you will hear is Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all-time, and he will receive all of the credit. But ask the man himself. Ask Michael Jordan how he was able to be so successful throughout his career. He will point the finger at his teammates, among them Scottie Pippen, who himself was voted one of the NBA’s top 60 players, for the success of the team.
The Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan didn’t enter the NBA and immediately start winning championships. They didn’t become the most dominant franchise in sports in the 1990s overnight. It took years of hard work and dedication. But even with hard work and dedication, many still are not able to achieve their goals. Michael Jordan brought something special. His uncanny ability to work with the team and communicate, whether it be physical communication at a practice, or a motivational speech, or by just relentless effort, he was able to do this better than any athlete, maybe even any human being. Successful team communication requires several steps to achieve an ultimate team goal. First, you will need to set a goal and a time to achieve this goal. Then, you will need to establish a leader, someone to lead you through the given circumstance. You need to work on conflict resolution strategies, to obtain success there will always be obstacles.
